Zam Salim: biography

Zam has received multiple awards for his shorts, commercials, and documentaries - including LAID OFF, DROPPING OFF MICHAEL and BLACK AND WHITE and has had numerous retrospectives of his work.

His debut feature film UP THERE won Best Director and Best Feature at the British Academy Awards Scotland, and also won - amongst other prizes - top honours at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in the USA.

He's a BAFTA BREAKTHROUGH BRIT winner, Screen STAR OF TOMORROW and ONE TO WATCH by Moviescope magazine.

As a director he has worked on a number of television projects including ENDEAVOUR for ITV/ Mammoth, and original THE BREAK series for the BBC, and is attached to a number of projects. As a writer he has been commissioned to write by the BBC, BFI, Screen Scotland, and most recently, Channel 4.
